What is hospitality?

One Saturday out of every month, the ladies of our church meet to host a Hospitali-Tea.  If you are a lady or a girl, we would love to invite you to join us.

We start out with a time of prayer for the food, which generally includes an assortment of small sandwiches, breads, snacks, and desserts.  We also brew some fresh coffee, boil water for tea (of course) and often serve water or punch.

Immediately after we finish eating, we have a game.  Often the game may be a word game.  Sometimes the game may be more active.  We try to accommodate those who need extra help.  (Yes, we have women come with walkers and in wheel chairs.)

After the game, we have a devotion—a time of sharing from the Bible.  Often the devotion may be about a female Bible character that was a particularly good (or bad) example.   But we also teach that we can never be the woman God wants us to be until we know for sure that Jesus is our Savior.

After the devotion, we have a craft time.  There is a special craft available for girls, and another for adults.  There are always some pre-made crafts for those physically unable to do them.

Near Mother’s Day, we celebrate with a Mother-Daughter Luncheon.  We have often had four generations of women present.  We always tell those who don’t have a mother or daughter nearby that they can adopt one for the day — and they do!

 

Near Christmas, we have a Ladies Christmas Craft Day, where we have three craft times, and a special luncheon with home-made soups and fresh bread.
